Motivated by many heavy fermion materials, we study Kondo lattice model and explore unique physical properties resulting from special space group symmetries. When the system belongs to nonsymmorphiccrystals, we found that their symmetries protect Kondo metallic phases in the large Kondo coupling limit. In the intermediate Kondo coupling regime, however, the system prefers Kondo insulating phases, breaking their glide-/screw-symmetries. We generalize our idea classifying the cases with different non-symmorphicranks and exemplify it in two-dimensional Shastry-Sutherland lattice.
