Charge fractionalization is a remarkable emergent phenomenon that can take place in correlated electronic systems. In this talk, I will show that fractional charges can be realized at the ends of an array of coupled quantum dots in the presence of a periodically modulated onsite potential. This can be understood using a picture similar to charge fractionalization in polyacetylene. I will discuss the generalized 1D lattice model to host the fractional charge. The magnitudes of fractional charges can be tuned by varying the phase of the onsite potential or the total number of quantum dots in the array. The condition to observe the fractional charges in the experiment will be also examined
