The SNU Physics and IBS-CCES will co-host Distinguished Lecture Series to provide information on innovative research and to acquire basic knowledge to the graduate students and researchers.

The first lecturer will be Dr. Kamran Behnia who is expert in measurement of transport properties from Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), France.

Dr. Kamran Behnia has been a researcher of CNRS since 1992 and has been leading the Quantum Matter group based on Paris-Sud University for seven years and Ecole Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles (ESPCI) in Paris since 2000. Dr. Behnia's research interest is 'collective quantum phenomena in a variety of solids ranging from semimetals to superconductors'. Based on his research experience, he recently published a book under the title of ‘Fundamentals of Thermoelectricity’ through Oxford University Press.

Dr. Kamran Behnia presented a review titled 'Superconductivity and ferroelectricity in strontium titanate' at the Quantum Materials Symposium 2018 held in Muju in February 2018. His presentation received a lot of compliments by many participants as it was overall easy to understand and very informative. Thus, the SNU Physics and IBS-CCES has decided to host Dr. Behnia as the first lecturer of the Distinguished Lecture Series. The lectures will cover the basics of transport properties and the result of latest research(see attached for detailed information).

We hope that this will be the valuable opportunity for graduate students and researchers.
